good friday

as a kid, i remember that we would try and be quiet between the hours of 12-3 on good friday. i recall one particular good friday when i didn't want to be quiet but then i caught a glimpse of my mom as she was going about her daily work around our home. my mom had such a look of reverence on her beautiful face. i could tell she was thinking and that caused me to stop and reconsider this 'quietness'. maybe there was something more to it, and as i continued to watch her as she carried on with her day, unspokenly conveying her faith and love for our Lord, my mom's quiet but ever-strong spirit inspired me to want to do the same. to be like her. so, i tried not be selfish and remember barely speaking during the hours of 12-3 that good friday.

thanks mom for sharing your faith that day and every day.
